BIOGRAPHY

Elisha Cecil
Born into a Mexican/American family in South San Diego, Elisha Cecil has been at the filmmaking game since his teens. After graduating from high school, his dedication to the craft would eventually grow into a career.
Elisha would attend Southwestern College to further his art. He joined the school's film club that was made up of a group of people that would become his lifelong friends. During his time with the club, Elisha would enter a handful of film competitions and even have some of his work played at a few local festivals. To name a few of the festivals: Horrible Imaginings in 2016 and The San Diego Winter Showcase in 2019 are where some of his work was shown.
Elisha has since relocated to Los Angeles to attend ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena where he received his bachelor's in directing for film in the spring of 2021.
Elisha is a dedicated filmmaker who has worked on many sets that range from narrative films, to music videos and even videography work. Elisha is also an avid writer who creates the screenplays for practically everything he directs. A few of his skills include: writing, directing, editing, cinematography and even drawing.
FILMOGRAPHY

JAGUAR JONES
2015
Jaguar Jones was an action film in the vein of blaxploitation like Shaft and Super Fly. The project was one of five projects selected by the City of Chula Vista's visual arts program where it received its funding.

SICK DAY
2017
Sick Day was a small drama piece about a girl with HIV trying to figure out how to break it to her conservative mother. The piece was written and directed by Elisha Cecil and was an official selection in the 2019 San Diego Winter Showcase for the powerful women in film showcase.

EYES OF SHADOW
2016
Eyes of Shadow was a slow burn horror film directed by Ricardo Arriaga and DP'd by Elisha Cecil. The film was an official selection in the Horrible Imaginings Festival where it played as the local spotlight for the evening.

CLVR TALKS
2018
Elisha has also been active in videography. One of the many events he filmed was for CLVR Talks. An organization that provides a platform for veterans to share their stories after they're discharged. Mark Cuban is a contributor to the program and has even spoken at a few of the events Elisha filmed.

THE TURTLE, THE RAVEN
2019
A short film written and directed by Elisha Cecil. The piece follows a shallow painter and his wife in 16th century Italy. A fight breaks out between the two when the wife feels her husband isn't being true to her form in the painting he's made of her.
The short film won Elisha a scholarship in ArtCenter, where it was filmed, because of its colorful dialogue.

THE GIFT OF LAUGHTER

Elisha's next piece is another period drama. Set in 1941, on the eve of World War 2, the film follows an aspiring immigrant vaudeville. The production has been on hold since 2020 because of the ongoing pandemic.
